This document describes how to download the complete IBM Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony 8.5.1 product using the Passport Advantage Online Web site.
Download Description
IBM Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony software is an add-on offering to IBM Lotus Sametime Standard or IBM Lotus Sametime Advanced software. The software is designed to help users more easily access and manage telephone communications directly inside the Lotus Sametime or IBM Lotus Notes client with an appropriate Sametime license or in the context of another business application. The software middleware layer helps simplify connecting into multiple PBX systems along with audio and video conferencing systems.
With Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony, users are assigned one callable number -- their unified number. Users can set their locations and preferred phone devices for making and receiving calls made to that number. Users can also choose to use their computers as phone devices, using the built in microphone and speakers, and Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony. Within theLotus Sametime client, colleagues can see a user’s Lotus Sametime status, and also the user’s phone status from Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony.
The Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony software includes the full set of user and server capabilities. Users are licensed for two components: Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony Call and Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony Connect. Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony Call co-requisites Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony Connect software.There are several key components and capabilities for each offering:
- A key component of the Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony Connect offering is the Telephony Control Server (TCS), which manages the connections to one or many Private Branch Exchange [PBX] System(s). Refer to the Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony Connect download document.
- A key component of the Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony Call offering is the Telephony Application Server (TAS), which delivers the user capabilities including Click-to-call, Click-to-Conference, Embedded softphone and visual Call Window, Telephony presence, and Incoming Call Management.
